Highway 401 Planning Study
This Planning, Preliminary Design, and Class EA Study includes the replacement and rehabilitation of structures, interchange modifications, future widening of the highway, and commuter parking lot expansions, from 2 km east of Nagle Road to Percy Street (approximately 18 km). The purpose of the study is to identify a Recommended Plan that addresses current and future transportation needs in the study area as part of the Ministry’s ongoing review of current and future safety and operational needs for the provincial highway network. The details of the proposed work will be further developed as the Preliminary Design progresses, and will be presented to the public and agencies at two Public Information Centres.
Nagle Road Interchange Study
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and the Town of Cobourg have also retained Stantec to undertake a Planning, Preliminary Design, and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study on Highway 401 for a new interchange near Nagle Road in the Town of Cobourg and the Township of Hamilton. The purpose of the study is to identify a Recommended Plan that addresses current and future transportation needs in the study area. The details of the proposed work will be further developed as the Preliminary Design progresses, and will be presented to the public and agencies at two Public Information Centres.
